The Dokra Danseuse strikes a pose in the traditional dance form of Kuchipudi. The flailing costume highlights her sense of passion and grace in her stance. The Danseuse is carved using the ancient lost wax technique by artisans of West Bengal. It is styled with a complimentary pedestal, enhancing the presence. Bring home this piece of tradition to your home.
Dokra is a painstaking work of craftsmanship where each piece is first moulded in wax and then coved with a layer of clay. It is then baked in a pit fire where the wax is lost through a tiny opening at the bottom, giving it the name, ?lost wax technique?. Once cooled, molten brass is poured into the clay mould where it solidifies, taking shape of the wax model. Since each piece is hand moulded, no two pieces of Dokra are similar.
The sculpture comes with a complimentary wooden pedestal which accentuates the overall appeal of the art piece
The actual product may slightly differ in appearance since it is completely handmade
Dokra sculptures are perfect for home and office dcor
